First of all, Confidence!
The first skill I will teach my future kids
“It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures” — Oprah Winfrey
It’s important to have confidence. For me, it’s the first fashion I have to wear every day before I wear anything else. It helps us open up to every opportunity and open the closed doors. Confidence is a fuel that will always give us the strength to fail and get a bounce back again. It allows you to go beyond yourself.
Confidence Opens Up New Opportunities
When I was in the first year of my college, my senior asked me to lead a national seminar, to be the master of ceremony. At that time, I had zero experience in public speaking. But I just say yes & gave a shot, that was hard at the first. I remember that I can’t even look at my audiences. I kept staring at the wall and talked very fast. I was nervous that time, but the little confidence I had that time, opened many opportunities to be a master of ceremony & public speaker. With very little confidence that allowed me to try something new, I started my career to be a master of ceremony in many events at my University such as national seminars with politicians, a national talk show with an actor, a concert with many national guest stars. Not only that, I even got many chances to give public speaking classes. I can’t imagine if I said no to my senior just because I had no confidence that driven by lack of experiences. My uni life might have a different story.
Confidence Helps to Convince Others
“Believe in yourself, before you make others believe in you”
It always starts with ourselves. Imagine that you interview someone with little or zero confidence who seems not firm on their capability, will you hire them? most likely, no! How come we trust someone who can’t trust themselves. Great people always have confidence within themselves, because at least they have to believe in their crazy ideas before convincing anyone else.
Confidence Helps Us to Speak Up!
Confidence gives you the courage to speak what’s in your mind and asking when you’re in doubt. It simply helps us to get clarity in every situation because we have the courage to say it what’s in our mind.
