We Don’t Need to Live The Way Other People Live

I admit I am not brave enough to tell the older people I met who keep questioning when will I get married or having kids and so on, hence I chose to write my thought here. I hope that the future generation can read this.

I wish we can agree that we don’t have to live in other’s people live and stop defining how a normal life looks like. I wish people can stop putting their perspective to judge other people’s life. We don’t have to judge people are unworthy just because they chose to live their life differently. I know as human beings, we are biased, we always see life with our own judgment, but at least we don’t have to tell people who don’t need our opinion. Whatever assumption that we have in our head, let’s keep it to ourselves unless they ask. We never know how we can hurt other people just with our little mouths.

We don’t have any obligations to live a “normal” life, to get a job at x age, to start a family at x age, and so on. We are free to design our own life as long as we can feed ourselves. Let’s respect other people’s decisions in their life. Let’s stop discussing when they will get A when they will get B. Let’s help other people to be happy with their decision.

Let’s define our own success without judge other people’s definition of success. Because everyone has the right to do whatever makes them feel happy and they don’t need our judgment.

I hope I can tell my old grandma that hasn’t married yet in my 25 is totally okay. I am happy with myself because I want to marry the right person who maybe he’s still somewhere on the planet earth. But the point, I don’t have anything to rush.
